Where to start..
If you are interested in working with Face of Makeup, send over an inquiry with your event date, event location, and a general idea of what services you are seeking. I will check into the date and our availability and get back with you within 48 hours! If we are available, I will send you a quote for the services that you are requesting.

Assuming that our offerings fit into your budget and you'd like to move forward, we will do a contract together outlining the details of your booking and the terms that we require to hold the date. We require a $200-$300 deposit, depending on the size of your group and the package that you choose. The deposit is submitted along with the deposit at booking. At that point, we are all set! Once you're ready, we can get a trial session on the books for you.
We will communicate regularly throughout the time between booking and the big day. I will put a schedule together for you once we get within a month or two of your wedding, and we will refine that together in order to design the perfect day for you.
Trial Sessions..
Our trial sessions are held at our studio in downtown Salida Colorado. The studio location is 222 F Street, Suite 3, Salida, CO 81201. There is street parking available all over downtown. We are located above Julie's Cubbie. The entrance is through the door next to her main entrance with the mailbox marked 222 1/2. Trial sessions are by appointment only. These are typically 2-2.5 hour appointments.

If you book a trial, please come with clean, dry hair and a clean, moisturized face. Bring photos of yourself in makeup that you like, and inspiration photos of the looks for both hair and makeup that you would like to try. Wear a top that is similar in color to your event dress or outfit to help envision the look as we go.

Keep in mind that inspiration photos should be of other people with similar coloring to yours. If you are blonde, look for hair and makeup looks that you can show to us of someone with light features/hair as well.
Preparing for your wedding day..
Once you get booked with Face of Makeup, we will send you a prep guide about skincare and hydration leading up to your wedding day. This guide will include suggestions on exfoliating, moisturizing, derma planing, and different ways to keep hydrated in the days leading up. Hydrated skin is key to a successful makeup application. If you aren't doing your part in that way, it will be impossible to execute the look that you're seeking. We will also suggest some optional dermatology procedures that can be very helpful in smoothing out your skin.
If you have any questions or concerns about your hair or skin leading up to the wedding day, we are always here to help and will get back with you asap to answer anything that we can.
Preparing for your wedding day..
Wedding day..
We will have a schedule determined for hair and makeup services prior to the wedding day. This will allow a very seamless and easy flow to the day. We arrive at least 15 minutes prior to our first scheduled appointment to determine the best spot to set up and to get our things out and ready to go.

We will require a space with a table, chair, a natural light source such as a window nearby, and available outlets. If any of these things are an issue in the location that we will be getting you ready, please notify us of this in advance so that we can bring what is necessary to set up easily and have what we need.

Once we begin services, we will ask that the following client be ready and available 10 minutes prior to their scheduled appointment time to be sure that we keep moving nicely throughout the time slots. Bridal party, family, and friends participating in hair and/or makeup should arrive with clean, dry faces as well. They should also have inspiration photos with them for both hair styles and makeup looks that they like. Bridal party, family, and friends will have shorter appointment times than the bride and should be prepared with options that can be reasonably executed in 30-40 minute timeframes. Brides will receive 1 hour appointment times for each service.
