The creator and lead hair and makeup artist of FaceofMakeup, Rachael Hoch, began her journey in the beauty industry in 2007 when she attended the Paul Mitchell School of Cosmetology in Atlanta Georgia. Her love for art and creative nature blended perfectly with the field of hair and makeup styling. She officially began her career as a hair and makeup artist with CNN and remained as such for 10 years to follow. During that time, she styled for several other networks, editorial shoots, print, and movie and television productions.
Being able to see her work on screen was thrilling and very exciting, as it still is, but her love for the craft lay more in the relationships she was able to build with her clients than anything else. Making people feel comfortable in their own skin and prepared to go before the camera lens or in front of a crowd was the best part of it all for Rachael. With that as her focus, she created FaceofMakeup to offer her services to brides and their family and friends as well as those who simply wanted to learn more about hair styling or makeup applications for their own endeavors.
Rachael and her husband, West, whom is a videographer and shares her love for creativity in film, moved to Salida, Colorado in 2018. They both continue to offer their artistic abilities in the Rocky Mountains and find themselves living their best lives in the simple little town and lovely community they now call home.

Starting her journey in the beauty industry in 2009 after her graduation from Penrose Academy, Lisa was given the opportunity to study, train, and work with some of the most talented artists. Her love for hair and makeup grew daily. In 2012,

Lisa and her husband made the decision to relocate to the beautiful state of Colorado to raise their growing family. At this point Lisa decided to put her formal training to use, taking on weddings, styling, photo shoots, and commercial work. Her love for being behind the chair only continued to grow and evolve through this, quickly becoming a wonderful creative outlet.

Having the opportunity to be such an integral part of a production or wedding has always been meaningful to Lisa. Growing up dancing she had always hoped that she would be fortunate enough to use the creativity she’d been blessed with professionally, and hair and makeup has been a wonderful integration of her passion and creativity in that sense.
Lisa finds raw joy in the moments she is finalizing her clients, watching the excitement dance across their faces as they peek in a mirror to see the natural transformation they attained together.
When Lisa is not working she is spending time with her husband and 3 children exploring and adventuring the beautiful world we live in.

Katie Brown has been doing makeup and hair for 7 years. She is a Colorado native and grew up as an avid rock climber.
She got into makeup as an adult and loves the creativity and artistic nature of it. She attended school at Aveda in Denver, and knew she wanted to do weddings right away. Katie ran her own bridal business in Boulder for several years (The Rendezvous).
Her work has been featured in places like Rocky Mountain Bride, Ruffled Blog and Wedfuly, and has worked with planners such as Calluna Events, Brindle and Oak, and more. She currently lives in Salida with her husband, daughter, and dog and has been loving working with Face of Makeup.
